Beta version v6.4.40 for Z9X release

do these betas offer superior image quality if I'm using a pretty standard setup (Z9X into a new model TV (2021 Sony Bravia) with TV Led DV and HDR set to Auto), or are the improvements mentioned in the release notes for more specific setups? I watch a lot of HRD10 and DV content, but unsure whether the mentioned improvements will benefit my setup.

 

Got the test file and although I can't tell you exactly what's wrong with it, I can tell you it's something to do with the way the file has been wrapped in MP4 - what program did you use?

If I remux the file to MKV with MKVToolnix, it works perfectly.

If I then take that MKV and remux back to MP4 (I used DVTool MKV2MP4) again it works perfectly.

So the original MP4 is in some way non-compliant.

 

That was fast

I use TMM ( tinymediamanager) to download them. It downloads from different websites. Not sure what they use to download.

ps. Just curious...how is it able to play a few seconds? And media center plays it also.

 

Not a clue - trailers are played with the online player, even local trailers, and compatibility/tolerance of different players varies.

I've been trying to get the devs to use the Zidoo player for local trailers for a while now...

I had that problem too with some YouTube trailers downloaded by TMM especially the small size ones (< 40MB). The same videos downloaded with Synology Download Station have no issue.

 

Did you compare a file for the differences?

From MediaInfo, the TMM downloaded format is iso6. I don't know what that is. The TMM downloaded one stopped playing within a second in the Zidoo trailer player. The one from Synology Download Station played fine all the way through.
