Thanks. Hoping “6.Fixed issue that some Dolby Vision movies did not play smoothly.”. Will help with stuttering I’m seeing.

I have gone back to using my anamorphic lens for proper 2.35:1 constant height abilities. Although I appreciate what you guys are trying, the gui squishing, and the menu diving needed to adjust between ARs is to compromised and cumbersome. With the lens back in place I can toggle between the 2 anamorphic modes on my remote in the blink of an eye, and everything has proper geometry. Zooming allows the same thing, proper geometry with 2 button presses.

The one thing I could use, which was my original request/suggestion, simply stick all the menus and play bar into the 2.35:1 video area, and for as infrequently as those things are used it could remain in that spot even for non 2.35:1 material. That’s the minimum anamorphic lens and zoomers really need.

The rest is making it overly complex and it feels like a case of people who do not have this setup, over-engineering a solution with undesirable compromises and subpar usability. It feels like You have bitten off a lot to chew by trying to provide a solution that competes with madvr/lumagen 2:35:1 feature sets. But they are sooo far ahead of you and have massive compute resource advantages that give them the ability to detect displayed aspect ratios and automate actions. Unless you are going to go all the way, I would suggest a simpler approach.

There is a problem with the Arabic subtitle on this version

 

Bored Mode. I like it! Cute and what could be a surprisingly effective way to get me to those movies I have always intended to watch but never got around to doing. Cool idea.

One question - does it pull from all movies, or only unwatched?

 

In my opinion, Zidoo’s solution was never designed to replace an anamorphic lens; it simply offers an option for users without the lens. Also, I am sure that Zidoo never intended to compete with madvr/Lumagen… a different ballgame.

Tested and thanks for fixing this! Now can we get a more convenient and clean way to start a movie over from the beginning? how about a long press on play icon in the movie details = clear resume point and then plays the movie?

 

Still time delay after the pause with DD, DTS, and Atmos
And no play from an earlier time after the pause.

Understood, and kind of my point. What I’m am saying is that the direction they are going has basically driven me back to using my anamorphic lens because it is overly complicated, has geometry issues and is not user friendly.

I’m not trying to be difficult, I’m really not. but design/solutions appear to be driven and implemented by people who have a theoretical understanding of how this setup works, but don’t have the practical experience of having/using a 2:35.1 projection screen. If that’s not the target for these features, okay. But they didn’t start to appear until I made a request related to my setup (2.35:1 screen and projector.)

 

Absolutely - it's a convenience for those with 2.35 screens who don't want a tiny little 16:9 GUI in the middle.

Ideally we'd see a scaled 2.35 GUI but I kind of doubt that will happen.

 

For real!!! I've been complaining about this for so long. Its a pian having to skip back five seconds to pick up the dialog. Surely this can be fixed? I know you can assign a key to skip back 5 seconds but it shouldn't be necessary.

 

What is this "bored" mode.

Has something been done about the long startup and pausing of Trailers

God job guys. Very pleased with the new 2.35:1 ratio for GUI only setting. Optimal for me. Can see all the menus/wall etc on my scope screen and then the video plays back in the right ratio.

Enhanced function request for subtitles:

1. Subtitle position was not saved. It should be saved for all movies or there's an option to save for all movies.
It's a pain to have to readjust subtitle position for every movie, even when re-watching an watched one that you already adjusted.

2. Add option to change subtitle font size. That would be really nice. On large projection screens (100+ inches), subtitle is just too large.

3. In Function Keys, adjusting subtitles up/down can only be assigned to UP/DOWN arrow keys. Please make it available to other buttons on a universal remote (Left, Right, or CH up/CH Down, etc.)
