Confirmed aggregated problems upto FW V6.4(7).42 (no feature requests)

I switched my menu to 1080p and tried a couple of blu-rays. One of them started the menu in 1080p but then switched to 4k. The other started briefly in 4k, then switched to 1080p. Both are discs from Universal. So there's definitely a problem with BD menu playback and 4K. The same film plays at 4K when played directly from HT without the BD menu.

Will try it when home again in 3 weeks. It could be it in fact introduced new problems with DTS-CD? See it reported on the FW release topic.

Will also try auto-resolution with BD Menu's. As I only use the menu when needed did not notice it.

 

With FW 6.3.35 If you watch a movie with PGS / SUP subtitles, by default you can't change settings anymore (change position or intensity). The work around is to temporary move to another subtitle track and then, at some point, the subtitle settings get to work again as usual. I tried on several titles and they all behave the same way. This wasn't the case with previous FWs.

Another bug is if you set "Dolby Vision VS10 for all content": once you confirm you get black screen (with Dolby Vision pop-up that comes up on the TV - LG C8 and also B9) and it stays that way till you somehow manage to reset the EDID (I personally had to connect the Zidoo Z9X to my projector). I personally don't use this setting because I don't want all content to be converted to DV (especially SDR ones), but the bug is there and it happens both with "TV Led" or "Player Led" set.

 

Minor thing in translation dutch if you switch to the oversight with all , favorites etc . There is the word gechiedenis it must be geschiedenis maybe it can be corrected is a next update Thanks anyway

 

Quick Setting translations for English UK are a mess. See my report on this below.

Check the translation project; the languages for quick settings have never been updated in the firmwares. Maybe the English UK has been optimized but not released yet.


We are in the same situation for french, people complaining about the translation for this part of the Zidoo players. I hope one day they will update the languages in this app…

 

I confirm that tv series season folder is not supported by HT4.0.
I will not réorganise my 60 TB's series because all my other machines use kodi, jriver, plex and they are working with season folder.

The HT4.0 standard is not alligned with the rest of the players like Kodi. It's a little bit late to re-invente the wheel.

I use zdmc for tv series on the Z9x.

 

You can still use the season folders if you use the batch editing function. Not the best solution so far but it works.

If source file is 4K fps=59.940, Video playback speed as slow motion.(PC works fine)
Example clip(no nude) person speaking doesn't match up with the sound.(Out of Sync)

Gemini man 4K DV works fine.

I believe this is a bug. (FW v6.3.35)

When you enter the subtitles through the "Subtitle" key on the remote (rectangle with an A in it), only the settings from the preselected subtitle work, when you select another subtitle from that list, it's settings can't be changed.

When you do it through "Menu-> Subtitles" it works fine.

 

For me not even through "Menu-> Subtitles"...it's random.. If you move through the subtitle tracks, at some point, the edit function works again.

 

Uhd 3000 problem with Hdmi Flac audio 192khz playback seems to be fixed with latest firmware 6.3.40. Thanks to the Zidoo team.

 

I know now it's not porn issue.

If source file is H264 4K fps=59.940 60.000, Video playback speed as slow motion.
If source file is H265 4K fps=59.940 60.000, works fine.

.avi(fps=25) Some videos freeze after 17-24 second, audio continues playing.

 

Tried DTS-CD playback again. The problem with some not playing correctly seems to be partially solved. The once forwarded as samples to Zidoo were indeed fixed but a few others still produce just noise. Most likely exotic format (24-bit DTS-ES).

The newly introduced DTS-CD not playing gapless problem is NOT solved.

Used FW 6.3.41 for validation.

As I know SoC RTD1619DR support 4Kp30 with H.264 and 4Kp60 with H.265.

Confirmed as NOT solved playing MCH Music sources via HDMI but works using downmixing to 2CH via an Internal DAC. The same applies to problem number 10.

Updated the list with FW 6.3.40 being released for all platforms including FW 6.6.40 for Neo X.

Started to flag the BD Menu problem in red as increasingly new releases don't work anymore specifically due to having multi language BD menus.
About time to be fixed.
