Hi all, this will be the first time I will be upgrading the firmware, not just on a Zidoo but on any Android media player.

I've been using ZDMC as my movie player, almost a thousand movies added to the library. If I upgrade the firmware, do I have to reinstall ZDMC? Meaning all my library is gone and I have to rebuild again?

It is not about the price but about how many units were sold and which owners will try out out the new fixes.

Maybe. But i worked a few years in a programming company and the right way is to test beta software with a smaller group and not with the majority. And because of the almost identical hardware it should be no problem to release all at the same time.
