Hi I am using the X20 for about a month now. When I first got it the picture was dark and details were missed. So I turned up the brightness from the picture parameter to 40. That fixed the issue and showed the details that were missed in the dark scenes but brought another problem. Now Blacks in most movies are grey and it's like I am watching a movie on an LED screen. My question is what is the best settings for the X20 to watch movies on an OLED screen?
HDR-10 Picture Mode: technicolor Expert BASIC SETTINGS: OLED LIGHT: 100 Contrast: 100 Brightness: 50 Sharpness: 10 Color: 55 Tint: 0 EXPERT CONTROLS Dynamic Contrast: Low Super Resolution: Off Color Gamut: Auto Edge Enhancer: Off Color Filter: Off Gamma: 2.2 ( default and greyed out ) WHITE BALANCE Color Temperature: Warm1 Method: 2 Points High - R: -5, G: -3, B: 3 Low - R: 1 G: -1, B: -3 PICTURE OPTIONS Noise Reduction : Off MPEG Noise Reduction: Off Black Level: Low Real Cinema: On Motion Eye Care: Off TrueMotion: Off
Deep Color Mode=Auto Color Space Mode=Auto HDMI Color Region=Atuo I turned on the HDMI ULTRA HD Deep Colour from my C7 for the X20's HDMI input.
That’s strange. I have both a Pioneer and Sony display and do not see any of the issues you are describing. I would contact Zidoo support and tell them about this, sounds like it could be something EDID related and how they communicate.
Calibration of the oled screen by an professional are the way of resolving problems with HDR of Sdr shadow details and Hdr impact. Otherwise you're gonna mess around with settings for the rest of your time and still won't be satisfied.
