I agree. The random frame skip is a serious issue. It’s not to the point of getting frustrated and throwing the Zidoo box out the window but it’s there on everybody’s machines whether you can see it or not.
I’m not implying that other issues like downmixing audio or scraping issues are not important but skipping frames on continuous playback it’s a fault in the one most basic function of media player box.

Maybe its not an issue with old tech but good Ref Plasma screen made for old school 1080p / 24 ?

As ive yet to see any skip frames on 1080p / 24 Movies i watch .
Hearing modern screen show it more so and of course 4K so hence why some see it.

Not saying its not there but panning shots galore i watch out for and buttery smooth
Id say Plasma tech has better handling of it hence ...........

Interesting. Maybe plasma does hide it better within 60Hz video scan and internal high speed panel refresh. I never owned plasma but every time I look at one I see screen flickering.

On my OLED raw 24fps is rough looking like moving objects in a strobe light ;) Amy inconsistency in frame rate with or without motion interpolation stick out like a sore thumb;)
But I still like Zidoo box:)

When you feed my Plasma Monitor a good bupit rate feed in 1080p 24 or even low quality it looks stunning and cinema / real life as such images .
But i did pay for it years back and still looks stunning against today tech .
But feed it low quality it dont like it .

My monitor was made specifically for blu ray 1080p / 24 material in its day hence why maybe i dont see it .

When your input is 1080p, 24fps do you get thrue cinematic 24fps on screen or does it do 3:2 pull down to 60Hz display or other frame interpolation?

    1080p 24fps but can do 60hz

And dot to dot mode etc in pure mode stunning picture
Hence why ive not changed .
Id go Oled but want a Monitor Oled but they are only 1080p dual screen but to expensive .

@godalmighty, no sound as no sound from the TV stereo speakers or no sound from receiver over optical SPDIF after downmix when you select Atmos?

Stereo speakers from the TV should always work with or without downmix.
Let us know how you got it connected and show your audio settings on Zidoo controls. I’m sure someone has similar setup and can point out the issue.

Your phone keeps hunting the focus. Long push on the phone screen where you want to focus. It should lock the focus and allow for manual exposure adjustment. My iPhone does it.

@godalmighty I did this test for you. It works for me from TV stereo speakers over HDMI and from optical SPDIF using downmix. The only difference is the file. I have full ISO rather then BDremux.

Hey, that's why I bought the Zidoo to get the BD menu :)

Don't know how much of a difference there is but in the first audio track description I have:
    Dolby Atmos/TrueHD Audio English 5174 kbps 7.1-Atmos / 48 kHz / 5174 kbps / 24-bit (AC3 Core: 5.1 / 48 kHz / 640 kbps)

As you can see AC3 Core: 5.1 is embedded into the Atmos track. Quite possible that the 2 were separated during the remuxing process and the AC3 Core 5.1 ended up as a separate track your track 2. My track 2 is DD with narration.

I don't know what happened but everything is working now HDR icon is working now, hahahaha I knew it, I knew that I can solve this accidentally everything is working now.

it's time to play around ZDMC. Would you know what are the limitations/restrictions of ZDMC on playind movie files like can it play 4k hdr in its native player?

my phone is xiaomi :( if i tap for a focus and everything get blur, very suck, my old lenovo is much better than this one

my box connect to tv via HDMI and to my AVR via SPDIF coz i only have old AVR, Denon 1905:(
    no sound from both
yes i realized that was no AC-3 embedded into Atmos audio but why with kodi sample that have embedded too and still downmix wont work, you can see the medi info from my post before
    http://forum.zidoo.tv/index.php?thr...or-zidoo-x9s-release.10134/page-14#post-44613
and yes again, all my .iso that have atmos sound embedded with ac-3 and downmix work fine
solved it accidentally or solved it by itself :D
whatever it is, it work now and thats the good news

i already uninstall ZDMC since HT2.0 comes out :p
with my other box that only depend playback on kodi, 4k hdr content works fine, only they cannot show the BDmenu

I think you are trying to get downmix working out of pure Dolby Atmos/TrueHD 7.1 track.
    I don't think it's possible, maybe stereo.
The only reason that downmix appears to be working on some files it's because of embedded Dolby Digital AC-3 track 5.1. There is no dowmix. It just reads the DD track and sends it over to SPDIF like in the DVD days.

Downmix works with DTS-HD MA 7.1 only as DTS 5.1 output.

Maybe Zidoo can fix it or maybe this is something with Dolby Atmos encoding. Most of the disks will have AC-3 track embedded in Atmos track probably for this reason. That's why you don't need to downmix Atmos 7.1, just read AC-3 5.1 track.

Raspberry Pi and Kodi can decode TrueHD 7.1 and DTS-HD MA 7.1 into 7.1 PCM.

Hehehehe, anyway right now I noticed that when I play hdr content, the display/picture randomly turns off and on by a milisecond once or twice in one movie. do you think itsi HDMI handshake issue?

  14. godalmighty

    godalmighty Active Member

no, its no problem with me
i always used AC-3 or DTS only for my movie coz my old AVR only can do that codec :(
just give some trying for @Vageesan Sivananthan so now he can relax coz its not that his box is defect or something, its all because of the Atmos itself
and thanks for the explanation :D
you mean it turns off/on once or twice in a whole one movie durations
and you can noticed it, wow...your eyes is so damn sensitive :(

Nahhhh its pretty damn obvious when you see it anyway, I'll just sort it out buy new HDMI cables and use differend hdmi port on my tv and let's see what will happen.

Well done explaining it, that’s how downmix works, as spdif can’t decode anything more than ac-3 and dts it “reads” the embedded core files from atmos, trueHD etch.

  17. Yes agreed, KODI can downmix TrueHD and DTS HDMA without Embedded track. So Zidoo must find a way to make it work in HT 2.0..

  18. By the way @godalmighty did you tried the DTS Demo disc? Is the bluray menu working on it?

  19. No no im not worried about the BOX, pretty sure it's software problem. Because i tried Kodi in Zidoo X9S and the internel kodi downmix work perfectly and all my audio track dont have embedded AC3.

wow...kodi is more powerfull than HT2.0
sorry man, i forgot it :(
on the way to download it first but it takes times to download 20Gb coz i dont have a high speed internet connection here :(
but my feeling says it useless, it not gonna work if you had tried it
