Wi-Fi mod on my H6 Pro

I'm getting two of these boxes in the mail today and I will be modding the boxes with new Wi-Fi antennas attached to an external antenna. I will keep you updated with the process.

 

Already had spectacular speeds without antenna but gained about 20mb more with it.

I just saw this. Thats crazy. Exact same spot I drilled mine. I wouldn't recommend extending the Wi-Fi antenna off their surface mounted one though. Just a run a new one straight from the board to the antenna.

 

Just a stupid question: It's not possible to use an external antenna through an usb port ?

 

I'm sure it is possible but I wanted the more professional/factory look approach.

Yea I knew what you meant. I just didn't want that.

 

I believe you could, but you'd have to have software that directs your wifi to use the antenna from the USB port. Perhaps there is something online or Zidoo to add it to the next upgrade.

I've found the 5ghz speed works much better then the 2.8ghz speed. I'm easily getting in the 30s and above, so I suggest you try that, before you start modifying the box.

 

thats funny as my 5ghz speeds are half my 2.4ghz
