I am a new owner of Zidoo X8.
I have searched the web and this forum but found no good answers to my problem.
    My X8 is with fw.1.4.12.

In order to send 5.1 channels to my external amp by SPDIF I set the SPDIF Passthrough to "raw".
    (Settings→Sound & notification→S/PDIF output: RAW)
Everything is ok when the playback starts.
The problem is when I pause the playback.
When I resume the playback after pausing it there is no more audio.
This happens both with the default player and XBMC.

I tryed successfully these workarounds to have the audio working again:
    1) stop the playback (not just pause) completely; then start it again and resume from last position
    2) change the audio track of the movie to another language
    3) using the remote to increase the playback speed to 2x and set it back to standard speed.

Is there something I can change in the settings to solve this annoying issue?

Just to give more info the problem described previously does not occur if the SPDIF is set to 2 channels instead of Raw (but you lose the 5.1 channels). Moreover the sound via HDMI works ok no matter how the SPDIF is set.

    Thanks.

As far as I know fw 1.4.12 is the last available for download.

There have been several downloads after that version .

You will have to download it via laptop to usb stick .

    Thanks for the link provided.
I have updated to fw 1.5.0 but the issue is the same: when I resume the playback after pausing it there is no more audio via SPDIF.
The workarounds are the same described in my previous post.

    Thanks again for the help.
