I can confirm the same problem with firmware v1.5 and LG OLED 65B7D.

Well, so which are the correct settings for LG 4K OLED TV, like mine (in signature)?
TV HDMI input is already set for HDR range.
I can confirm that FW releases after 1.4.6 handle near black level incorrectly (all is darker then it should be).

Apologies i should have worded that differently what i meant was Movies and TV do not support full bandwidth RGB only Limited so there is no point setting it to Full range on the Zidoo

read this article which explains it better: https://referencehometheater.com/2014/commentary/rgb-full-vs-limited/

You should set the Zidoo to the Limited Range 16-235 for optimal viewing

  6. Thanks for the update 1.5.0, everything worked again.

my friend-it is checked that the TV is definitely playing fullrange and at some point with the same firmware it had no problem with colorspace.

    Hello,

Not sure which was the last playing fine in full range. Seems 1.4.6.
Anyway, yes, currently setting X9S for limited range plays video better if not of HDR type. But HDR ones are played wrongly.
I'm not an expert, but I'm able to play HDR files (a lot of good demos are available) with bot TV internal player (that plays very well those HDR videos) and with X9S, that plays wrongly, both in fullrange (with dark too dasrk) that in limited (that plays well, but without HDR , i mean like a normal video, so no brilliant colors, so no high contrast etc.)
I'm ready to help debug this issue, if someone teach me how to.

I have checked the same files(hd simple and hdr)and the embedded player of the television, plays much better.
it is definitely problem from zidoo.

Just for comparison yesterday i did a test with my Zidoo X9S running latest firmware and my Nvidia Shield again on latest update.

Zidoo was set to 1080p with auto resolution switching enabled and RGB set to Limited (Which is the Correct Setting full is not!), In ZDMC same setting 1080p @ 60hz

Nvidia Sield was set to to default 4K @ 60hz in Kodi leia! Build shield was seto to 4K resolution

I tested full UHD Blu Ray MKV rip of Gods of Egypt

Both the Zidoo and the shield switched automatically to 4K 3840x2160p @ 23.976hz and both machines activated HDR BT.2020 on my LG OLED

Result: there was no noticeable difference in Picture quality between the 2 one did not look brighter than the other or vice versa.

Both Played HDR material correctly and both activated the BT.2020 colour space, As far as i can tell there is Zero problems with this latest firmware concerning HDR material

So X9S, even set to "limited", when playing HDR videos switches to "full"?
    If true, it's fine!
Else reproduction of HDR videos will be "limited", that may be OK, but is not what HDR should achieve on HDR TVs.
Tomorrow I'll do some tests with true HDR demo video I have, and I'll report here.

    Hi Bob.

All 1080 50i Interlaced H.264 Videos are played only with 25 FPS. :( . The First 2 Seconds - before the Frame switch works - it looks very smooth. After the Automatic Frame "Correction" it only plays with 25 FPS.

  19. Hello,

Few days ago I upgraded my X9S with 1.5.0 firmware and I encountered few problems:
    1. Subtitle problems
The first movie I played after the upgrade was with external .srt subtitles - the first 5-6 lines didn't showed up, and then appeared alltogether, then there was some time when everything was OK (with sporadic 2-3 lines appearing together) and after a hour and a half the subtitles disappeared at all.
Then I tried a movie with external .sub subtitles - right after the beginning of playpack, the subtitles of the whole movie started to show up rolling in high speed.
    2. Browser problem
If I try to watch video in Chrome and put it in full screen - after 2-3sec the video stops and the following appears:
"The media playback was aborted due to a corruption problem because the media used feateures your browser did not support"

Everithing was working fine with 1.4.12 firmware.
Everything above works fine with my Sony Xperia tablet, with my smartphone and my Fire TV stick.
