There are a LOT of VS10 and Dolby Vision improvements in this release - the devs fixed everything I threw at them in the last couple of weeks so as far as I can tell, VS10, native base layer usage and Dolby Vision handling is now correct for all modes in SDR, HDR & DV displays.

Something that definitely can't be said for certain other players...

    Thank you. Much better.
MediaLight Shadow Detail and Bias Light Patterns go now in AUTO to 71 in TV led and 69 in player led. :)

VS10 for SDR perfect to 64

Is HDR10+ going to be brought back to normal?
I may be wrong, but it seems to me that it has become worse, as if dynamic metadata is no longer available in this firmware. Dips in the shadows and a static picture. On previous firmware it was better.

As I said over in AVSForum, this update is a huge improvement for DV content (at least on my TV). I honestly didn’t know what I was missing until now,

No change to HDR10+ as far as I know.

You can test with this file:

You'll probably find if you turn up the brightness on the TV that you'll get lower - since we're testing for the source level and not the display calibration, it's valid to do that and a good idea if there's any ambient light.

Is it advisable to do a factory reset after installing new firmware?

Any ETA on when .40 will be available for the other models? Comments about improved PQ make me really want to try it.
