We downloaded the standard KODI version and had tested with Allwinner H3, found most of blue-ray film sources would not play smoothly with 1080P. The analysis shown: The standard XMBC is based on Media Decode, and video buffer through the Linux Render GLES Render: It led to not fast enough, after a couple of copy video buffer that’s from the Decode to Render. After many times to discuss with our R&D team, we decided to dock OMX decode and HWComposer of Allwinner directly. In this way, will it realize the video buffer with ZERO copy, and it totally sizes up the fluency of playing. Now attached several screenshots:
Will the X9 be able to do that (for Kodi)..............in the near future? That's what X9 users want.
For me it's important that it needs to passthru the audio compressed formats (DTS, Dolby, etc) on HDMI so that my receiver (Yamaha) will decode it. I'm glad to see that it seems to do it properlly
Sorry, because of the chip limit X9 can't support DTS HD7.1 and trueHD7.1,but it support DTS5.1 and trueHD5.1 .When X9 play the file of DTS HD7.1 /trueHD7.1,it can play with output on the format of DTS HD5.1/trueHD5.1

I'm sure the X9 itself using its own media player can play DTS5.1 and trueHD5.1 It's playing these files with Kodi and its internal player does NOT work as it should on the X9. Sadly, the X9 Kodi version is still on 4.1 which has it's own problems (can't open Android Apps). Perhaps the developers need to focus on Kodi 15 (isengard) or at least on Kodi 4.2
I hope that we will see a 15.0 Isengard release soon too now that it has entered Beta 2 stage and one step from being official.
Is X9 does't work with Kodi and internal player when it's playing these files?Kodi has been updated to 14.2 version and we are developing and testing width kodi 15.0,please wait patiently.if not, please update the fireware v1.0.3.3
Do you not read this forum? There are issues in firmware 1.0.3.3 with Kodi !!!! See http://forum.zidoo.tv/index.php?threads/error-in-kodi-caused-by-firmware-1-0-2-9.355/
I'm very sorry about the problem, and I have asked our R&D engineers to deal with the error. Thank you for your support to our team.
Thank you, Hercules.chen. It's THAT little peace of information that's lacking from the original (and other) post(s). When forum users post a problem, they have most likely spent a lot of time investigating and documenting their problem. They would like to know that the problem is at least understood by R&D and to have some reaction that the issue is being dealt with. (see http://forum.zidoo.tv/index.php?thr...-v1-0-3-3-for-x9-release.345/page-2#post-1131) Please do so in the future.....
