As a former DMP-A8 Gen 1 owner, I recently upgraded to the DMP-A8 Gen 2. On my Gen 1, I relied daily on routing the HDMI ARC input directly to the I2S output to feed an external DAC.

However, on the Gen 2, this routing options doesn't seem to be available. To rule out any potential DSP allocation conflict, I have already disabled the subwoofer output in the settings.

Is this a known hardware limitation of the new generation, or is it a software bug / feature oversight that...

I’d love to see a DAC Loop mode on the DMP-A8 Gen 2, allowing us to use an external DAC while keeping the Eversolo’s analog preamp and volume control.

The idea would be to send audio to an external DAC through a digital output, then feed its analog output back into the A8’s RCA or XLR inputs. The A8 would keep the original source playing while using that analog return for its preamp output.

I just got a master edition, both speakers are working but spectermeters only activate the right channel and VU are flat.

Fw is 1.90, using qobuz and cd, i tried xlr and rca cables.
